Call for Applications – Idrija Žlikrofi Festival 2025 (Market)
On Saturday, 23 August 2025, the Idrija Žlikrofi Festival will take place in Idrija, inviting all lovers of this traditional dish to a pleasant green oasis by the Idrijca River. In addition to savoring Idrija žlikrofi, the festival offers an opportunity to showcase products at the Culinary and Handicraft Market, held right at the festival venue.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for vendors to enrich the culinary and craft offerings at the Idrija Žlikrofi Festival. The number of spots is limited, so we will prioritize vendors based on the following criteria (in order of importance):
- who are the bearers of the Idrija Izbrano collective trademark certificate
- whose offer is included in one of the European or national quality schemes (protected designation of origin, protected geographical indication, traditional specialty guaranteed, organic production, etc.)
- who sell handmade products and those that emphasize cultural heritage
- who have already participated in the Idrija Žlikrofi Festival in the last 5 years.
WHY ATTEND THE FESTIVAL?
- 4,000 daily visitors
More than 4,000 visitors attend the Idrija žlikrof festival. Most participants come from Slovenia (mainly western and central Slovenia), but in recent years we have also seen an increase in visitors from Italy and other countries.
- Culinary experience
We, the organizers, strive to make the festival not only an experience of Idrija’s žlikrofi, but also a gourmet and heritage experience. To achieve this, we are building on an additional program that also includes collaboration with renowned chefs and MasterChef contestants, and we are also incorporating Idrija and broader heritage (both craftsmanship and culinary).
- Pleasant atmosphere of Mejca Park
The festival and the market itself are set up in Mejca Park, which offers natural shade, and the nearby Idrijca River provides natural cooling for the venue.
- Family-friendly festival
We want to bring the festival closer to families with a full-day offer. We offer activities for children and youth that enrich the festival.
PRICES LIST AND TERMS OF COOPERATION
The cost of a full-day visit to the Idrija Potica Festival is €30, excluding VAT.The price of hosting at the marketplace includes table and seating preparation.The Idrija Žlikrofi Festival will take place on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 10:00 to approximately 20:00.
The location is decided by the organiser, who allocates the exhibition space and places the exhibitors to the benefit of the event.
The organizer has the right to require the exhibitor to submit all permits (craft license, relevant approvals from the competent health and veterinary inspectorate in the case of food trade, proof of insurance for persons and objects) before confirming the allocation of exhibition space and at the event itself. Exhibitors should have all documentation with them on the day of the event in case of an inspection. Sale must be carried out in accordance with the legislation in force in the Republic of Slovenia.
The organizer reserves the right to select providers based on the criteria published above in the event of a larger number of applications than available places.
