The year 2023 was a very fruitful one for the ID20 Institute, as we organized numerous new events, festivals, created with young people and the elderly, and above all discovered a lot of new things! Get to know our 2023 year through the story!

JANUARY 2023: At the beginning of the year, we released the 7th issue of the TBI magazine, in which we, among other things, featured the play “Pasja grofica” (The Canine Countess) and the actress Maruša Mlakar (on the right). Photo: Robert Zabukovec.
JANUARY 2023: The RE: project, which focuses on building heritage in Slovenia, Romania, and Slovakia, kicked off with an introductory meeting in Idrija.
FEBRUARY 2023: Nataša Balant attended a training on youth work in rural areas in Spain.
MARCH 2023: Drejc Kokošar went to Coconat, a co-living space in the Brandenburg region of Germany, to explore the world of digital nomads.
In March 2023, Matevž Šlabnik participated in a heritage residency in Naples, Italy, organized by Europa Nostra.
APRIL 2023: We set off for Portugal, where we explored the rural condition and beauty and met the partners of the Common Good project.
APRIL 2023 – We presented our work in the town of Cerkno and organized a special event called “Heritage beyond heritage”. The audience could learn more about digital nomads in rural areas, the Giser mining house, and our work with cultural heritage.
MAY 2023: As part of the NOMADLAND project, we organized a training in Croatia for 21 youth workers from all over Europe, who were exploring the world of digital nomads in rural areas!
JUNE 2023: In Maribor, we concluded the DDI project, within which we created the DURI platform and a virtual exhibition featuring Slovenian students from 7 high schools! Photo: Janez Klenovšek.
JUNE 2023: At the Day of Miners’ Houses, we listened to the duo Zajtrk and talked about the future of cultural heritage.
JULY 2023: In Chemnitz, Germany, we introduced ourselves at the international conference Making the City, participated in the Makers United meeting, and got to know the team of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025.
AUGUST 2023: At the mining house Giser, we hosted volunteers who helped with the renovation of the entrance doors of the Giser house! In the project, which was supported by the European Solidarity Unit, we were partners of the Youth Center Idrija.
AUGUST 2024: Once again, we attracted thousands of visitors to Idrija to taste the Idrija specialty at the Idrija Žlikrofi Festival
September 2023: At the Betrib Festival, we explored the concept of obsolescence and explored industrial culture in the Topilnica Hg (The mercury smeltery). Photo: Marko Čuk
October 2023: At the picnic in front of the Giser House, we said goodbye to the summer season, prepared chestnuts, and created wooden hearts with master Vid Prezelj. Photo: Marko Čuk

October 2023: We participated in an international conference in Romania and discovered the secrets of the Austro-Hungarian spa complex Herculane.
NOVEMBER 2023: The last visit of the year – partners of the ACORN project got to know youth projects in the municipality of Idrija and the Goriška region.
DECEMBER 2023: We held our first reading rehearsal for our new theatrical experience in the Giser House!
DECEMBER 2023: We ended the year with a crochet workshop just before the Christmas holidays.
